I thought I would give all the lovely readers of my blog a little peak at my new desk/ filming space! This room is still most definitely a work in progress but I am so excited to see it come along. This is definitely a ‘functional’ room in that I use it primarily for getting ready and filming – it’s really a dressing room/ closet/ office/ filming studio all in one so for short, Dan has just christened it the ‘Amie Room’.
As a result, the lights stay up all of the time which might not be the prettiest but it makes filming set-up SO much easier for me. Previously, I had so little space to work with that the lights would often block me in to whatever room I was in. Now I’m able to pause and go get a drink of water or have a bathroom break – it sounds silly but this is absolute luxury to me!
I try to keep the area as clutter free as possible but I do also like to have all the items I use on a daily basis to hand. On my desk, you’ll find my a vanity mirror, my Chanel brush holder (obsessed!), my daily foundation (Armani Luminous Silk), a YSL serum that I’m trying out, my favourite Diptyque Roses candle and my two go to hair products – Tresemme Heat Protectant and Big Sexy Hair Hairspray.
I also like to make use of clear, acrylic containers – whilst my space is certainly bigger than what I had before, I’m still working with London standards here so anything that creates the illusion of more space is a winner for me! One of my favourite things about my new room has got to be this gorgeous acrylic makeup holder from Glamour Living. I discovered these a couple of years ago and bookmarked the page to come back to when I finally had the room. These aren’t cheap by any means but I cannot even describe how much I love mine and I can confidently say they are 100% worth the money!
Acyrlic never really struck me as a particularly luxurious material but this just feels like quality! It’s super heavy for a start and is beautifully crystal clear. It also comes with handy little dividers which makes makeup organisation a breeze. I went for the classic Glamour Cube but there are a few larger and smaller variations too. I also make use of an acrylic cube that I bought from Muji for my hair appliances and a smaller acrylic pot (with a gold base no less!) also from Glamour Living from my hair brushes.
And that’s it for my little tour! I’ll probably still be moving things around here and there but for now, I’m very content with my little work space 🙂
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!
Hi, Amie. How wonderful to have a refuge just for yourself that is beautiful yet highly functional. I love the two large windows on either side of your dresser/desk. The natural light is perfect for putting makeup on – and you're no longer doing that on the floor. : )
Wishing you love, happiness and success.
Haha absolutely! Total luxury 🙂
