Finally getting around to sharing my Lake Como tip

Finally getting around to sharing my Lake Como tips! It was seriously the most magical trip 🥰 Hopefully you’ll find this helpful if you’re going!

1. Amazing views are not hard to find so don’t overpay for accommodation or food - it’s really not necessary. Even the most casual cafes have incredible views!
2. We stayed in an air bnb. After having stayed in a hotel in Greece with a baby, we much preferred the air bnb. More room for baby stuff and it also meant that when the baby slept, we didn’t have to sit in the dark 😂 I’ll link the air bnb in my stories.
3. A hire car made getting around much easier but the streets are fairly narrow so driving can be an adventure 🙈
4. It really doesn’t matter where you eat. Everywhere serves great food (no really!). Even the tiny cafes that we tried because we had no time turned out to be amazing! We didn’t have a single bad meal on the trip. Our two favourites were Grand Victoria Hotel in Menaggio (fancy meal) and Bar Pinseria, La Terrazza 125 in Brienno (a cheap and cheerful one where you can also swim and sunbathe. The town is where we stayed and is tiny but lovely 🥰)
5. Definitely hire a boat! We did a guided tour which was so great but next time we would just hire it ourselves. Much cheaper and you’ll get to stop and appreciate the views more.
6. We brought a stroller and carrier. The carrier we barely used because it was too hot and Leo gets sweaty haha. Check the weather forecast and if it’s warm, I would just skip the carrier. That said, there a LOT of stairs around Lake Como. We were grateful that we had bought a lightweight travel stroller.
7. Everywhere seemed so baby friendly! High chairs in pretty much every place and placing our food orders took way longer because every waiter/waitress was chatting to Leo haha.
8. We only planned one activity a day and it was perfect with a 6 month old baby. No pressure and the rest of the time we could just enjoy long meals and the beautiful views 🥰
9. We visited Villa del Balbianello and were not prepared for the walk up! It was hot and long and not ideal for a stroller BUT it was so worth it. Absolutely beautiful views and gardens! Would 100% recommend.

First time leaving Leo and Dan together as well… 😅 But everything went fine! And I got the BEST nights sleep 😂 Time to plan more trips haha 😍
